Travel Tuesday: Yellowstone National Park

Watch my travel vlog here.

Growing up, our major family trips were across the U.S. My mother loves national parks and is passionate about visiting as many as she can, but her favorite has always been Yellowstone National Park. I visited for the first time when I was nine, and then again when I graduated high school. My favorite part was always the horseback trail rides, which took you through the wilderness into areas you couldn’t see from the road. I grew up riding horses, and it was always a passion of mine. Current Morning Routine and Go-To Smoothie: Inspired by “The Miracle Morning”

DSC06401.jpgThings I’m good at: karate, drawing, eating tacos. Things I’m not good at: waking up in the morning. Ever since my teenage years hit me, I’ve had the constant struggle of waking up in the morning. I always feel groggy and it takes me a solid hour before I feel like I can start doing work. But as Tim Ferriss said, “If you win the morning, you win the day.” Which is why I have been working on perfecting my own morning routine to make sure my day is as productive, successful, and enjoyable as possible. Travel Tuesday: 24 Hours in New York City

Recently, I visited New York City for the first time since I was six years old. Why did it take me 18 years to go back to the city that never sleeps, which is only a four-hour drive from my D.C. home? Honestly, it was so close that I kept putting it off, knowing that it would always be there. But I finally made the drive (well, ride on the Greyhound), and jam-packed everything I wanted to see into 9 hours! Continue reading “Travel Tuesday: 24 Hours in New York City”

Travel Tuesday: Toronto, Canada

Happy Travel Tuesday! This week, I will be sharing with you the highlights of my most recent trip to Toronto, Canada. Canada has been on my travel bucket list for the past few years, and Toronto did not disappoint! I can’t wait to go back to Canada and explore more of this beautiful country.

My boyfriend Andres (@aces_journals) and I rented a car and made the 10-hour trip up to Toronto from Washington, D.C., stopping along the way to see Niagara Falls. Coming from someone who has traveled solo most of the time, I loved having someone to talk and laugh with during the car ride, and the drive was surprisingly easy. The time spent travelling together is what I cherish the most from this trip, and I can’t wait to see where our next adventures take us. Continue reading “Travel Tuesday: Toronto, Canada”

7 Eco-Work Essentials

When is comes to creating a more eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle, many people do not think about the decisions they make in the workplace. Besides being home, a majority of our time is spent at work. The everyday choices we make in our work environment could have a bigger impact on the planet than we may think. This year I have begun to cultivate a more conscious work lifestyle, from how I get to work to what I eat during lunch. Here are my essentials for a more conscious, less wasteful work life: Continue reading “7 Eco-Work Essentials”

Travel Tuesday: Belize

Watch my travel vlog here.

This trip was the escape I needed. With four months of working through the busiest time of the year and trying to cross things off on an infinite to-do list, I knew I was nearing my breaking point. As someone who recharges through travel, this trip couldn’t come fast enough. And when it was finally time to board my flight to Caye Caulker, I couldn’t have been happier.

January Recap: Favorite Articles, Monthly Plastic Consumption

Is it just me, or did January feel unusually long? I swear Christmas was six months ago…but anyway with the first month of 2019 over, I’ve decided to show my first monthly plastic consumption chart. Keeping track of my plastic use definitely made me mindful in my choices, and helped me realize where in my life I consume the largest amount of plastic. So I present to you, my life in plastic:
