Happy Wednesday, all! For the past year, I made it a goal to buy almost entirely secondhand or from ethical/eco-friendly brands. While buying secondhand is more cost effective, I personally find it difficult to find pieces that are high quality and fit me well. When I look up sustainable activewear, I lust after the beautiful pieces that would surely make me feel like I was living my best life of farmer’s market shopping, green smoothies, and yogi flows (Indigo Luna collections, be still my heart!). Day 1: Monday
I like to start out my week with my most professional outfit to get myself back into the work mindset. Because most of my outfits this week are neutral (I’m a neutral gal, but I’m going to try and go out of my comfort zone and play with prints and color during this challenge), I added this red blazer to give some interest to my outfit. You’ll also notice this week that I am really digging espadrilles.
As I continue on my journey to sustainability, I’ve had to take a hard look at my shopping habits, particularly in fashion. I started to do my research and discovered the hurtful impacts of fast fashion globally, particularly in impoverished countries. Fast fashion is detrimental from all aspects: economically, environmentally, and ethically. Read more about the issue here.
